This lab is broken into two parts:
1. Captains of Industry
2. Robber Baron
You, the historian, are to research the documents and evidence to come to your own conclusion about the big business owners of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Did they do more good than bad (Captains of Industry) or more bad than good (Robber Baron)? What was their effect on society? Each figure was not equal in their positive and negative impact. So over all, what is your view after reviewing all the material?
"Should the big business owners be referred to as Captains of Industry or Robber Barons?"
Day 1: Captains of Industry
On Google classroom you have access to the analysis documents necessary to describe the primary sources you review. You will observe what others thought of them, what they thought of themselves, and some improvements they were responsible for.
Be sure to fully review the material and thoughtfully respond to the analysis forms. Participation, as always, is a part of this grade!
